New Clubrooms Update - Safety

23 Feb 2020 by Janine Tate

We are sure everyone is getting excited about the new Clubroom build. If you played in the Summer 7’s competition or are now in pre-season training, you can’t have missed the building activity. You will have seen the new temporary access gate in the south-west corner which gives access to the turf. If you use that gate, please also use the existing steps onto the turf.

We have tried to minimise disruption to turf access and use, but of course, with a build of this size, some disruption is inevitable.

Most importantly, for all members and players, the building site is exactly that and the fences are in place for a reason. Access into the building site is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. If a hockey ball goes into the site, it is lost, DO NOT try to retrieve it. The builders will throw them back onto the turf as they find them. This is a safety issue – no-one may be on the building site without permission and without wearing appropriate safety gear.

If you have a valid reason to enter the site, you can do so by contacting the Buildwell Manager, Tony Connors on 0400 900 014 and he will be more than happy to discuss with you.

In a few weeks, the main slab will be in place and an open day will be arranged to view the works to date. We encourage you all to come and take a look on that day.
